Football in Carshalton

Onside UK.jpg

From September 2022 we are changing how we do football in Carshalton to better suit the needs of our players.

Sunday afternoons

Sunday afternoon sessions will take place from 2-3pm at Stanley Park playing fields during term time.  Three sessions per month will be regular training sessions for children aged 6 - 12 years old, with a junior group (aged 6 - 9) led by Dan Arkwright and a senior group (aged 10 - 12) led by Paul Harbinson.  On the remaining Sunday of the month children will take part in an internal competition called the 'Onside League', with all of our players allocated to teams who compete against one another over the course of the season.  Full information about the Onside League can be found here.

All training sessions and matches held at Stanley Park playing fields are completely free of charge.  However, to manage numbers we would ask that all parents book their child in to sessions to guarantee their place.  Our sessions are very popular  and there are only a limited number of spaces.  Children wishing to take part in the Onside League must be registered on a team.  Players can be registered for teams throughout the course of the season.

Tuesday Evenings

As an additional training session for older players aged 11 - 14 years old, we hold Tuesday night football at the Oaks High School.  Sessions are held during term time on the MUGA at the rear of the school from 7-8.30pm.  Places are limited and should be booked online.  There is a monthly charge for attending this training session to help us cover our costs and we ask that parents make a donation of £18 per month for each child attending (sibling rates available on request).  If parents cannot afford this then please speak to us about either a subsidised rate or one of the limited free spaces sponsored by the Beeches Baptist Church.  We are committed that no child should ever miss out on football due to financial constraints but, equally, we also need to ensure that our costs are covered to allow our activities to take place at an affordable rate for everyone.

Our midweek sessions differ to our Sunday sessions in that there is a larger emphasis on match-play and will also include a focus on the 'Onside Goals' programme, looking each week at one of the Onside Soccer values (Leadership, Resilience, Health & Well-Being, Friendship, Respect and Integrity).

All dates for midweek sessions are detailed in our booking system.
