Away Days is the third book in the Onside Plus series — eight sessions about taking faith, character and purpose beyond familiar ground and into real life.
Built around stories from the book of Acts, it follows the first Christians as they travel, face pressure, encourage others, deal with worry and anger, repair friendships, learn from one another and keep going when things get difficult.
The eight sessions explore:
Belonging · Confidence · Character · Purpose
Young people meet Barnabas, Philip, Peter and John, Paul, Silas, Mark, Priscilla and Dorcas, with each session connecting their story to something recognisable from football and everyday life.
Every session follows the same simple rhythm:
Discover → Think → Try → Connect
Inside, young people will find:
eight full sessions;
Bible stories from Acts;
memory verses;
honest discussion questions;
practical activities;
weekly challenges;
prayer prompts;
Big Questions and Real Life pages;
an Away Days map;
a 30-day Away Challenge;
pre- and post-programme reflection pages.
Away Days is designed for football projects, churches, schools, youth groups, mentoring and home use, and works either as an eight-week programme or session by session.
The approach remains simple throughout:
Everyone is welcome. Faith is optional. Questions are encouraged. Respect is expected.
